Following on from the Powertrain error codes and a bit of further investigation on an unidentified and intermittent rattle I have had for some time I decided to do a Compression Test. Unfortunately the results were not what I wanted, there was virtually no compression in Cylinder 1 and Cylinder 2. As a result I would need to pull the head and check the head gasket as there was more than likely a failure between the two Cylinders. After me and a mate got the head off what we found was not pretty. Not only has the head gasket failed between Cylinder 1 and Cylinder 2, there was now reasonably extensive damage to the Cylinder wall between the two cylinders.
